‘We are looking after nature — and our nursery — for our future generations’

June 25, 2024 | By Marielle Brunelle

After Typhoon Odette swept through Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in Palawan, Philippines, devastating lands and livelihoods, the local Indigenous communities have been working to restore forests lost in the storm with support from the Priceless Planet Coalition, founded by Mastercard, Conservation International and World Resources Institute, and campaign partners.

Across six continents, the coalition is helping communities restore forests and critical habitats, mitigate climate change, support biodiversity, and improve their own resilience to climate and economic challenges. As the coalition progresses toward its goal of restoring 100 million trees, it is doing so in locations that have significant potential for positive global impact.
