Alan Marquard
Mastercard Fellow, Money Movement

     

Alan Marquard is a Mastercard Fellow responsible for transforming global money movement through strategic engagements and partnerships with central banks, payment systems, financial market infrastructures and payment service providers. He also leads Mastercard’s efforts on the G20 Roadmap for cross-border payments.

His expertise spans P2P payments, disbursements, business payments, and account-to-account transfers. Previously, Alan was global head of Transfer Solutions at Mastercard, leading Mastercard Move’s money movement business, B2B cross-border payments and consumer bill payments. His leadership was instrumental in expanding Mastercard’s capabilities and market shares in these areas.

Prior to Mastercard, he was a member of the Executive Management Committee of CLS, leading innovation in business models, services and technologies for the world's most systemically important payment system. Alan also had an extensive career as general counsel of CLS and previously as general counsel in corporate and investment banking environments.

Alan's core competencies include developing business and driving growth through strategic planning and execution. He is highly experienced in innovation in payment and settlement and legal risk management.
