John Levitsky

John Levitsky is co-president, United States for Mastercard and a member of the Company’s management committee. In his role, John is responsible for Mastercard’s U.S. product, services, technology, issuing business and financial institutions in the U.S.  This includes portfolios in the following segments: co-brand, commercial, prepaid, wealth management, emerging issuers, financial technology partners, regional banks, national banks and credit unions.

John joined Mastercard in 2000 and has held a variety of positions, including roles in finance and strategy. Most recently, John was president of U.S. financial institutions. John also led Mastercard’s corporate development team, having global responsibility for managing and executing acquisitions, divestitures and minority equity investments. John served on the board of directors of Mastercard’s investment portfolio companies and played a key role in Mastercard’s initial public offering. 

Prior to joining Mastercard, John underwrote and managed commercial debt and equity portfolios at GE Capital. Before working at GE, John audited a wide range of security instruments at Pricewaterhouse Coopers and worked in a small business lending division at the Bank of New York.

John holds a Master of Business Administration from New York University and has an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University.
