We understand that the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is unprecedented and creating challenges for many businesses around the world. Mastercard is closely monitoring these events to maintain service to our customers and guarantee the safety and well-being of our employees, and we recognize the impact this is having on our global partners and are committed to collaborating as we navigate this crisis together. You can read more about this in a public letter from our CEO, Ajay Banga.
Service Resiliency :
If your operations are impacted in a manner which has or could affect the quality or timeliness of the services you provide to us, please speak with your Mastercard relationship contact. We are confident in—and proud of—the resiliency of our core infrastructure and our robust business continuity planning efforts. But we recognize that this situation may be causing impacts to our suppliers, and we are here to partner with you as needed. Our risk management team is proactively contacting many of our suppliers to obtain an understanding of the current situation, but please contact us directly if you have concerns about your ability to deliver during this time.
Information Security and Data Privacy :
Our commitments to secure and proper handling of our employees’ and consumers’ personal information is as strong as ever—even in these unusual circumstances. If you handle or process personal information about our employees, Mastercard cardholders, or consumers in general, we expect you to maintain continued diligence and focus on security and privacy. We have several resources available to you on our website, including information from our partner the Cyber Readiness Institute regarding security matters for teams which are temporarily working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your privacy and security obligations, contact our third party risk team at TPRM@mastercard.com. And if you suspect or have experienced any form of data incident, contact us immediately at +1 636 722 3600 and TPRM@mastercard.com.
Doing Well By Doing Good :
Our Supplier Code of Conduct contains the principles and standards to which we ask and expect our suppliers to follow—and while we are focused on supporting our customers and employees, supporting our community is also top of mind. We have joined with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Welcome Trust to speed up the response to the COVID-19 epidemic by identifying, assessing, developing and scaling up treatments. We invite you to join our effort to find a solution to this unprecedented situation. And, through our partnership with Scholastic, we are making our Girls4Tech online curriculum for grades 3–7 available to parents and teachers looking for learning resources. Whether through these partnerships or others, we encourage you to help the broader community during this challenging time.
